Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of jurytap.com, app.jurytap.com, our juror screeners, and our text messages and emails (the "Service"), provided by Andrew Q Crosley, doing business as JuryTap ("JuryTap", "we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

The Service

JuryTap runs remote mock jury focus groups. Law firms order a focus group, we recruit and screen adult participants, and seated jurors take part on their own devices. Firms that order a focus group may also sign an order or services agreement with us; if it conflicts with these terms, that agreement controls.

Firms and staff accounts

• Keep your login secure and give accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You confirm you have the right to share any case material you upload, and that you will use results only for legitimate case evaluation.
• Fees, payment timing, and cancellation terms are shown on your quote at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• Focus group results are an informal research tool. They are not legal advice and do not predict any real verdict.

Applicants and jurors

• You must be 18 or older and answer the screener truthfully. Applying does not guarantee a seat.
• Seated jurors must sign the participation agreement, which covers confidentiality, recording consent, and payment. Its terms apply in addition to these.
• Keep everything you hear in a session confidential, and do not record, screenshot, or share session content.
• Payment is made as stated in your seat offer after you complete the session. You are responsible for any taxes on what you receive.

SMS messaging terms

Program: JuryTap juror notifications. If you opt in on our screener, we text you about the focus group you applied for: application status, seat offers, agreement links, session reminders and join links, and payout notices.

• Message frequency varies, typically up to 10 messages per focus group.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to cancel at any time. You will get one confirmation text and no further messages. Reply START to opt back in.
• Reply HELP for help, or email andrew@jurytap.com.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no attempts to access other people's data or break security, no false identities, and no harassment of jurors or staff. We may suspend access that violates these terms.

Content and ownership

Firms own the case material they upload and the reports produced for them. JuryTap owns the Service and its software. You give us permission to process your content only as needed to provide the Service.

Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, JuryTap is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (or $100 if you paid nothing).

Changes and termination

We may update these terms by posting a new version here with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept it. You may stop using the Service at any time; we may suspend or end access for violations of these terms.
