One page. Do this once in the Zoom web settings, then check the two session-day boxes. Goal: one audio file per juror, so workstream C can diarize by file instead of by voice. Zoom's menu names drift; the setting names below are current as of 2026-09 and are worth a 30-second re-check.
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud recording | On | Files land in Zoom's cloud; nothing depends on the host laptop surviving |
| Record active speaker, gallery view and shared screen separately | Gallery view on | One video with every juror's face; skip active speaker |
| Record a separate audio file of each participant | On | The whole point. Also under Local recording; turn it on there too as a fallback |
| Audio transcript | Off | Zoom's transcript is not diarized per file; we make our own |
| Display participants' names in the recording | On | Cross-checks speaker mapping later |
| Add a timestamp to the recording | On | Aligns audio with JuryTap's event log (set pushed / closed times) |
| Automatic recording | Cloud, on start | Removes "did you hit record" from the runbook |
| Recording consent / disclaimer | On, ask participants to consent | Jurors get a prompt; a refusal is visible before anything is said |
| Require password to view cloud recordings | On | Work product |
| Recording owner | You (the JuryTap host account), not the partner | Only the owner can download per-participant files |
Also: Settings > Meeting > "Allow participants to rename themselves" Off. Per-participant audio files are named by display name; the coordinator should set each juror's name to match the JuryTap juror list before start.
audio_only, gallery_view, and an Audio Record folder with one M4A per participant.zoom/<session-id>/. Note the path in memory/first-real-session-baseline.md.Limits worth knowing: separate audio files need each juror to be an actual meeting participant (not dial-in via a shared room), and a juror who joins by phone audio gets a file named by phone number. Breakout rooms are recorded only by whoever is inside them; keep deliberation in the main room.
